The Diploma degree is two trimesters and 10 units. The Bachelor degree is over two years and 30 units (+ electives).
The course focuses on offering students the fundamental skills to be their own entrepreneurs and to successfully brand and build their businesses. Some of our students have had career paths in studio publishing businesses, TV and radio broadcasting, audio technicians, artists and educators.
Yes, full-time study is 16 contact hours a week. Part-time is flexible; however we recommend no less than three subjects. There is also flexibility to do online or on-campus study.
You may change from full-time to part-time and vice versa, adjust your timetable, or defer or withdraw with no financial penalty before Census Date. After Census Date, all enrolments are finalised until the next trimester.
You will meet your program head and coordinators in Orientation Week as well as other students in your course. In the first week of the trimester, you’ll get to meet your lecturers.
Yes, we have a booking sheet of itemised equipment that students can borrow. All borrowed equipment must be signed out in reception at Wellington St campus.
You’ll need to do induction before using the main studios 1 and 2 at Wellington St campus. Tech rooms, labs and rehearsal rooms are all available depending on availability.
We recommend bringing a computer, audio headphones and a notepad to write down important information in Orientation. Most resources and information will be explained at the start of class.
If you have limited experience, we suggest you attend the DAW Bootcamp in orientation. You’ll be able to work on your skills in class, and we also offer software support.
Yes, all Music Production students receive discounts at Manny’s Music and Store DJ in Fitzroy. You’ll also receive a trial licence for Ableton software.
